Thought I'd start a thread on this as I haven't really seen the point made clearly elsewhere. People who werent there need to be told! Several of our recent wins have been over piles of turd mascarading as football teams, but rovers looked organised, keen and were extremely quick on the ball. Admitedly luck went our way for once but it's brilliant that we've beaten a good team playing well! :)

Nice, I thought they might of just rolled over due to their mid table status. I couldn't go but thanks for the update

That is good to hear. Huddersfield and Stockport are both capable of playing well so it is good we are able to beat some of the better teams.

Pity we couldn't have played 'good' teams all season! Like Millwall and Leicester, for example - 8 points from those games, I believe.

There keeper was on the halfway line for one of their corners or free kicks, can't remember. But it does show they were going for it.

i thought they were in second gear for most of the match ... a good team who would've pounced on us and eaten us for starters if we'd played them on the original date!

I disagree. Unlike Colchester - who clearly couldn't be arsed when the going got tough - it seemed like Rovers were mightily hacked off to be losing, and chucking everything at us. Always dangerous to face a mid-table side in that mood as they have absolutely no nerves, and nothing to lose.

Maybe it was because I was sober?! I felt they looked a constant threat.

I agree...some second gear !!!!
For a mid-table side they were up for it and nearly blew us away in the first half. Lambert and Kuffour have a stack of goals between them and it showed.
Don't forget this side blew Millwall away in 40 minutes on Saturday.
This was no Colchester or Oldham...they were better than that and its a credit that they kept going all night with nothing but pride to play for.
For any of you sitting at home, this was 3 points earned the hard way.

May I just say that Iron Mike was gutted that he did not accept a Percy Pig, when you offered him them.

[Must say, they are very nice. Always get them from M&S at London Bridge on the way back from Spurs.]

They'd clearly had "say no to strangers" drummed into them at an early age! There're still some in my car!

Rovers were well up for it and were a constant threat. Virgs and Tommy E were heroic. This performance was what has been missing all season. I loved it even though my neves for the last 35 mins were totally shredded.

thought we were quicker to the ball through most of the game (except maybe the first ten minutes) and stifled their midfield. Their fans were really frustrated that as the game went on they looked less and less likely to come back. Speaking to some of their fans they couldn't believe we are in such a bad position and were getting increasingly frustrated as the game went on that they were unable to play their own game. Our midfield and front men covered so much ground with good movement side to side and the defence marked and chased well all night.
