I did read somewhere else that Rix was "interested" in signing him along with Lee Bradbury of Walsall.

He would never in a decillion years sign for Oxford! He scored 8 goals in two years for us, and two of them were in one game against them, after coming on with 10 minutes to go when we were 3-2 down at home in Div 2, and then banging in a double to beat 'em 4-3. Marvellous scenes indeed!
