He's an honest/opinionated darling.
I lived there for a year (1980). The 'new' town square (since filled in with buildings) was a venue for skin heads to harass Asian mothers with their kids in the afternoons. There's a very good case that, instead of meandering along in a vaguely north-easterly direction, the West Sussex/ East Sussex border should run due North from just east of Shoreham.
This would hand Crawley over to East Sussex to do with as they wish*.
(* - they may wish to move the East Sussex / Surrey border south by a few miles so that Surrey gets it.)
Did my first gig there at the Clair Hall in 1973. Singer in a rock band (yes, I know). Two hundred in the audience. Nearly shat myself.Your post has made me realise that I've lived in Sussex for most of my life, but I don't believe I've ever been to Haywards Heath.
Over three years on, and I'm still not sure I've been there.Your post has made me realise that I've lived in Sussex for most of my life, but I don't believe I've ever been to Haywards Heath.

Do you like commuter towns? Do you enjoy washing your car every Sunday? Do you drive a mid range audi or bmw. Do you enjoy the comedy of Michael McIntyre? Do you think Rishi Sunak is doing a good job in the circumstances? Are you a fan of the wild rock and roll of the band Coldplay? Are you willing to overpay for a semi detached house on a 1960's housing development for the benefit of a fast rail connection to London? Are you a fan of exotic foriegn food like Italian, Indian and Chinese. When you dress down do you favour a polo shirt ? Big fan of golf ? Do you drink Birra Moretti? A nice prosecco for the wife maybe a bottle of Jamshed at the weekend? Does the decor of you house lack any colours other than beige or gray. Does your house lack books? Have you tarmaced over the front garden fo additional parking? Are your favourite films Goodfellas and Snatch? Do you think you could win if you could get on The Traitors orThe Apprentice? Do you listen to Heart Fm or wherever the hell Chris Evans is nowadays?Over three years on, and I'm still not sure I've been there.
What a total waste of 3 years. You get one life.Over three years on, and I'm still not sure I've been there.
How about Lindfield?Over three years on, and I'm still not sure I've been there.

If you answered yes to all of these you already live in Haywards Heath. If you answered yes to 50% or more come talk to Jake or Chloe at identikit estate agents or they can come visit you in their company liveried Mini. Get started on your new life in Sussex's dullest town today
I've never been to Northern Ireland either. How about Lindfield?
You will be pleased to hear that Sid Minter died decades ago, and all the pubs, including the White Hart are under new management, several times over since 44 f***ing years ago.I lived there for a year (1980). The 'new' town square (since filled in with buildings) was a venue for skin heads to harass Asian mothers with their kids in the afternoons.
I worked in a pub in the centre, and there were NF/BNP leaflets regularly left on the tables. The assistant manageress was openly racist. Alan Minter's dad occasionally drank in there. An absolutely obnoxious piece of work. The customers were generally belligerent bullying gammon. All white. The manager had a scam going with his accounts, and his missus, all fur coat and no knickers, was done for shoplifting during my time there.
I was overjoyed to move to London in 1981.
