Ronnie Moore has parted company with Oldham Athletic after 15 months in charge
of the League One outfit.
Assistant John Breckin has also left the club and the Latics have moved
swiftly to install John Sheridan as the new manager at Boundary Park with
immediate effect.
Former Rotherham boss Moore replaced Brian Talbot in March 2005 and this
season steered his side to within six points of a play-off place.
Sheridan, 41, made over 150 appearances for Oldham during a six-year spell
with the club before calling time on his illustrious playing career in July
2004.

Managing director Simon Corney explained in a statement that Moore's exit was "for financial reasons".

He said: "Clearly, a lot of fans had not taken to him (Moore), and season ticket sales have been very slow.

"People seem to think we have vast sums of money, but unfortunately that is not the case.

"We have to work within certain constraints, and at the end of the day it was a financial decision.

"It wasn't a pleasant job telling Ronnie, and he was shocked.

"I hope our decision will go a long way to boosting season ticket sales, and help towards the revenue that will always be needed to continue to take our club forward."

Heh...karma in action indeed. I remember him parading around Millmoor clapping the fans when he thought it was gonna be his last game before Ipswich offered him the job. Whoever made that call deserved at least a biscuit!
