Like others have said one of those players who formed part of my early days watching football on TV, sure he played in the first MOTD I ever watched. Also sure I saw him at the Goldstone playing for Tranmere towards the end of his career.

Played at The Goldstone in his first season for Liverpool too - and no, I wasn't there! Did watch him from the Kop in my time in Liverpool though.
