At least you seem fair.Seems to have gone into 2 topics. For what it’s worth atmosphere was great. I personally didn’t find it intimidating, and had a good laugh at the man going crazy with his 20 year old son because he seemed offended by us singing the great escape.
Not a massive fan of the name chanting after the goal but pre match song sung in unison flags flying was quite a sight.
As for the other topic. @Coozi I’d be amazed if anyone thought English fans are angels. You’re also jumping quite a way into history though with some of the examples. No matter who travels away you’re bound to have some drunken idiots even now but this isn’t the UK in the 80s. I can’t of course comment for other clubs who have in recent times travelled to Rome. I know I’d be disappointed if Brighton fans were involved in trashing the city. You sort of said yourself people justify things based on past club visits and not judged us on who we are. In regards to the BBC on this one does seem 2 innocent people were jumped upon and attacked and that was reported. They were just as scathing though for example of English fans at the euro finals at Wembley v Italy for example and how football hooligans had let the country down.
So my problem is with portlock's racist claims and those who implicitly back him by evading the point, while you at least don't do that.
