If Gus didn't want him around, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be in the team photo and would have been shipped out to another club on loan.

Some of you lot do love a conspiracy theory!

If he got shipped out on loan and started banging in the goals for another club, then he would have people clamouring to get him back in the first team picture and lots of questions would be asked about why Poyet wasn't using him

Let him rot in the reserves and then there is no chance of the manager having to tolerate a player that he isn't interested in playing

Not saying that is what is going on, but that would be the best way to ignore the problem and let it go away

Not looking good is it, the player wasn't even in the squad that went to Man United

Saw him play out at Worthing pre season against Whitehawk & I thought he had promise. He scored an absolute belter too. Maybe with 7 subs he'd have more chance of having a go.

I was there too and although he looks a bit, dare I say it 'gangly', but he thumped in a really good goal on the turn !

Would be interesting to know the reality BUT, interestingly he, (Roland Bergkamp with a K that is) is in one of the club's official features ' TODAY' where he is supporting a community project - sorry I cannot immediately find it but trust me it is there.

If no longer relevant why would they feature him so ?

He's not on the match day programs so this could be true.

but yet does appear on the away programmes (well pretty sure he was on the squad list for the Ipswich game)

Was speaking to a member of the Albion staff yesterday and dipped my toe in regarding John Stephensons rather quick depature ,it turns out that he alone sighned Bergcamp and that Gus went ape shit over it.basically gave the club an altimatum him or me the rest is history also told that Hinchlewood has been offerd redundancy but has refused to go .Hes been put in a tiny office with no windows as Gus does not see him in being able to run his new acadamy ,to stuck in his old ways ect ect

I believe all of this to be true, certainly I've heard the same about Hinsh. And if you think about it this does make total sense. Gus is obviously going to want to chose his own people for roles like this.

All very odd and has been going on for some time now. He's neither in the first team squad (got a number but nothing else, not even shown in squad on programmes) or the reserves ... do we know if he trains with the first team? If he's so useless why don't we just get rid of him or send him out on loan? I can't deny the whole thing is very bewildering and is Gus really doing this because of Stephenson. If so it's hardly fair on the lad as it wasn't of his making.

He has never been a member of the development squad so why do people keep repeating this point?

I don't get your point. Just because he isn't in the DS squad, surely its better to have a player, playing games, rather than having made 0 appearances on the bench so far, and being 5th or 6th choice striker currently ?

One of the only negative things you can say about Poyet (and sometimes it can even be a positive thing) is that he does come across as quite stubborn. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that was the case at all, in which case you would have to feel sorry for Bergkamp as he is quite clearly wasting his time here

Some people on here make me laugh.

Does anybody ACTUALLY know how well the under 18s are doing currently under Hinsh? the answer is incredible well, i think they have one 5 drawn 1 and possibley lost 1.

no doubt Hinsh will step aside at some point in the future for the 'Acadamy' but that will not be for a while and im pretty sure Gus backs that. infact Gus took the Under 18s for a day this week.

As for RB whatthe OP stated is true, its only what has been said before, however people are now only starting to believe it.

Bergkamp has already made an appearance for us (as a sub? ) v Gillingham in the League Cup. He is only 20 so he wont have played a lot of football for anyonw!

he looked alright on , an admittedly brief, first showing

He was on the bench in that game, but did not make it on the pitch.

Such a shame if this rumour is true. We must surely see something in him, if we've sent him out on loan to get first team experience. The Hinshelwood rumour is indeed true, he been walking round the club with a face like thunder for months.

Whatever, if he was Gus's signing or not I hope we are doing whatever is best for the lad's development as it's not fair for him to be caught up in this.
