Mother-in-law (in her mid 70s trusting, naive, widow) recently had a local builder round to do one job, that then spiralled into a few more.
I suspected that the builder was overcharging and living the life of Reilly with all the extra work, taking advantage without producing quotes for the different jobs..
When we asked for a full breakdown of costs, labour parts etc, they got the arse and demanded more money or they would leave site, again not quantifying on paper for exactly what.
After a run in they have left site and left unfinished work
Are there any local (Worthing) firms that would be able to provide a reputable quote for the work that has been done, so we can work out if she has been overcharged?
Reconstruction of a small lean to, replacement of windows and interior and exterior doors.
Happy to pay for a quote, knowing that the quotes received would'nt equate to potential work gained by them doing so.
Also need the quotes to be able to take things forward with trading standards.
