He hasn't gone yet has he?... He'll be playing the pro40 on the 19th of this month at Hove won't he?...

A fine excuse to get yourselves down there and say t'ra to a LEGEND.

Fantastic servant and integral player in the greatest period of Sussex County Cricket clubs history.

Arguably the best player in div 2 this season! Rayner's battings got to step it up a bit now to replace him.

If what we saw in the t20 the other night is anything to go by his batting does seem to be improving!

One of the biggest unsung heroes of his generation. Excellent bowler, particularly in the one dayers and always dangerous with a bat.

How many times in the championship seasons did he dig us out of trouble, just giving Mushy enough runs to bowl them out in the last?

Bet he'll make a great teacher too.

Top player - got written off by some at the start of every season, but saved Sussex so many times.

Just my veiw but RMJ is a dying breed, years ago most counties had a decent loyal all-rounder not any more. Never got the credit he deserved, but then he was playing for Sussex ! We have so called big name match winners in the English game i/e Freddie or KP however i know which one i rather have. Saw him at Derby score a 'ton' and he did the simple things well. He won't be replaced. Would have liked to have been at Arundel today.

Top Bloke and Top Player, in a similar vein to Jason Lewry playing for Sussex his whole career meant other all-rounders got their England chance while he didn't. A lot worse players than him got England caps but he got a lot of domestic silverware instead.

I'll bet Hurstpierpoint School have one hell of a cricket team in the next few years!

Thanks for the runs and the wickets RMJ:clap:
