Albion have missed out on Robbie Simpson

Albion have missed out on Robbie Simpson, who instead goes to Huddersfield for £250,000 to replace long serving striker Andy Booth. This will end the rumours that Huddersfield are after Glenn Murray.

It looks likely that Murray will only be allowed to leave if Albion have a decent offer to make profit from paying £300,000 for his services last November. It should be noted he did put in a transfer request last season but went on to play for Albion the following season.

If we had offered £400k I am sure that Coventry would have been keen for him to talk to us as they eventually settled on £250k if as reported.

I think the £400k was probably just paper gossip and idle speculation by many.

If they wanted rid and the gy didn't want to come to us they would accept the next bid, regardless of if it was lower. Bet they are pissed at him though!

I think you need some Prozac or maybe Viagara, probably both in fact.

Frustrating mixture....having a hard on but being too spaced out to do anything with it!

A friend of mine at Coventry always said no-one had bid £300K/£400K. The deal done is £250K but that isn't all cash up front and includes add-ons based on goals scored and league position/eventual promotion, I know that Huddersfield's was not the only offer and (he has hinted) we were in the mix but he is not saying any more at the moment so I don't know if we got as far as talking to the player. The important thing to stress is that this is not unusual in transfer dealings and it is not a massive failure on the part of the club to have not got the guy whether or not we offered enough either to Coventry or to the player if we got to that stage. It could be that we got outbid or it could just be that we didn't value him as highly or want to take that big a punt on someone who is as yet not entirely proven in the league...I can imagine the reaction of some on her if we had!

I don't really think that Simpson is that big a deal in any case judging by the comments made by Coventry fans. Frankly we should see how much we get for Murray and then invest in a tried and tested player.

The success of the bloom regime continues then!

I think you're about to join Ernest on my ignore list. Take that as an example of how low you have sunk.

I may be wrong, but my image of you is one of a spoilt brat that stamps his feet and screams when things don't go exactly as you want.

Grow up.
