I didn't see any direct thread for Robbie...

I just thought he was an absolute gem for us yesterday.
I had my doubts when we announced that we'd signed him
on loan...

But I saw enough yesterday to convince me that the guy
puts his heart into it..and I wish him all the best.

Well done mate. I was proud to be be an Albion fan with
him and Thornton tryring their hearts out.

In the pub lst night, none of my (Man City, Norwich, Tonbridge, West Ham) supporting friends could believe he signed for us. I've been surprised there wasn't more comment. He played OK - entertained - at times looked good by making time. Promising but not the messiah.

Also still a lot of chat about Man City game - has done our profile a lot of good.

I thought he did well. Threw himself into the game, didn't act like a bigtime Charlie in any way, and made a very good contribution. Apart from anything else, he maybe showed a few of the players that it's possible to take a bit of time on the ball and think about what to do next. Nice one Robbie. Impressed by Thornton also.

I thought Savage did alright and he showeed a few signs of why he has played at the top level for so long.

He is an irritant and a willing worker, that is how he has stayed at a higher level for so long and I suppose he knows that, so he was always unlikely to come try and be a Berbatov.

He was very tidy. Better than any midfielder we presently have and that showed.

I thought Savage looked a class above, the number of simple lay-offs he did were quite brilliant.

Indeed. Could tell he had a real football brain as well, no surprise at all he had played at the top level for so long. I just hope Derby dont want him back and we can hold onto him until January.

Would Savage want to be plying his trade in the 3rd division until January. I think he sees us as a stepping stone to getting a permanent deal with a Championship club.

I would suspect it might depend what league position we are after his intial loan period is up.

If there is an improvement and real likelyhood of a run for the play offs we might well fund it, but if not, are we likely to fund his £1000's a week for more mediocrity ?

Not too sure.

Would agree with that - if we are 15th come the end of November it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Though I think we will be able 8th come the end of this month, and Robbie Savage will be one of the main reasons why.

If he isn't going to be in the Derby side I can't see any reason why not, if he comes here and gets rave reviews he is more likley to get into a top/mid-table championship club. If he is sat in the reserves at Derby he will probably have to settle for one of the worse sides in the Championship.

Just asking, like - all the cheating, diving, play-acting, whining and provocation Savage has been involved in all his professional career. Is that all OK now he's playing for us for a month? Thought so.

Good point. One of a long line of players that opposing fans love to hate and only the home fans appreciate (sometimes through gritted teeth). Diouff is the current example. I have always looked on him as a bit of a comedy act. The only thing I didn't like was when he left Birmingham - but then we don't know the full story.

To be fair, even when he was at his most infamous, there was never any shortage of people sticking up for him, not just, say, his manager at the time. I've struggled to believe people's descriptions of him as one of the nicer guys in the game etc etc but I'm sure it's been said more than once.

Robbie Savage - he's all right. *hangs self for copying shittest NSC phrase ever*

Surely all that matters is whether he does any of that for us? Did none of any of that on Saturday so would be stupid to hold anything against him for things that have nothing to do with his career with Brighton.
