Listening to him now. Just shouts at callers. f*** OF SAVAGE. He is one of those twatty footballers that says because he has played the game he knows and no one else can possibly have an opinion. TWAT.

Much better pundit than Claridge and more listenable than the vast majority of idiots on the BBC.

I have to disagree. Savage is all mouth and no content. Claridge, whilst I agree he is quite dull, knows what he is talking about and respects those around him by not shouting and talking over people.

except when it comes to the laws of the game.

Another vote for Savage. He can be pure class at times.

Not a huge fan of Savage but thought he was good the other week on 606 arguing with a caller about buying seven pairs of boots at once.

Used to like Claridge a lot but he does seem to be geeting more tedious as he ages.

Game of opinions, & mine is the complete opposite to that. He is an emabrrassment. I listen to the 606 podcasts as I'm away & this season it has been cringeworthy hearing Savage every week shout down callers, inevitably with the line, "I've played the game".

Steve Claridge is in a different league than that idiot.

I used to dislike Robbie but I do find him entertaining now.

Last week a reporter said that Wenger went nose to nose with an official and Robbie chirped up with "they must have been miles away from each other"

oooh a big nose joke, give that man a big fat contract

should have mentioned his own nose, with SNOT hanging out of it when he got hauled off in some minor cup final cos his manager couldn't trust him on the pitch

I agree, it's a game of opinions. And mine is that because everyone has a different opinion, it's important for the pundits to be entertaining when they are giving theirs. For me, Claridge is boring and patronising. I don't agree with everything Savage says, but atleast he's worth listening to because he's interesting and thought provoking.

Say what you like, but he's got people talking about him on here. Isn't that the point?

Thought provoking? Savage? Are you joking? The only thought I have when I see or hear him is 'what a prick.'

You can get away with yelling at callers like that if you're even faintly articulate yourself, but not five minutes earlier Savage had been spluttering like a bloody cat choking on a furball when he was being quizzed about whether he'd accept the authority of a young referee. Leaning back on "I've played the game," and yelling at people who disagree with you is extremely lazy and merely serves to wind people up, and not in the way that the radio DJs are so keen to.

Couldnt agree more, and Radio 5, ( which i think is a class act), demean themselves by almost wanking into their tissues everytime they mention his name ...its fawning at the worst level .
He's a yob , average footballer , and is CRAP on 606....

When asked what he knew about Sébastien Squillaci the other week, he replied "He's got a silly name". He's entertaining in a 'listen to that prick' way but for everyone who doesn't rate him as a pundit there's someone who does.
