Adams said that Savage had spoken to him and was still making his mind up.

The newspaper reports were apparently inaccurate.

The quote I read came from their manager who said that Savage as expected didn't fancy going to play for Brighton.

I would have thought that Adams would have taken a bit of offence at that, and I guess that's why he mentioned the newspaper reports.

From everything I've seen of Savage on MOTD over the years he's a twat of the highest order. Always ready to dish out the nasty tackles, yet the first to roll around crying when he gets the slightest touch back. Generally comes across as a total prick off the pitch too.
