Would be a great signing for the rest of the season I think. As Bobby showed (bearing in mind he was all but f**ked by injury from the off but still did the business), class is permanent and MLS will have kept him in reasonable shape for this level. Would far rather have someone with Keane's nous and experience to swing a tight game than an unproven youngster from the PL. Look at the problems Wilson had making an impression last season. We have plenty of energy in the side already - someone who can read the game and has the ability to take their chances could have far more impact in a tight contest.

I think he would be a great signing till the end of the season. Will give Sam a run for his money and knows where the back of the net is. Ok so he is a bit older but you don't lose that knack of finding the best pass by making the right decision or taking a chance when it comes your way

It's slower because it is a Summer Sport in the US. They have to play in hot conditions. The speed of the game suits them but they are still incredibly fit and skillful.

As a 20 game back up to Baldock, Keane would be a very good fit. I'm not sure that is what he wants though.
It may be and I'm sure they are, but clearly touch and control are aided by having more time.
Taking your point, it is completely different to play at a slow pace and then switch to an all-action style.
If Keane signed and let's say despite his age, he still had the same ability, sharpness etc, he would still need games to pick up the pace. Ridgewell was poor last season until he'd picked it up, and even then he struggled.
Keane is/has been great, whether he can 'hit the ground running' is highly debatable, that is why I would prefer a different option.

Good point. Given his age, he probably just wants to play and I don't think we can offer that type of guarantee.

But Wilson was doing well until he suffered his illness/chronic nerves whatever it was and still popped up with goals after that. Last home game vs Derby.
Was doing ok at Boro as well, until he got stuck out wide when Dean stitched us up.

We don't need to. The current squad is doing well enough. We do need back up at the front though. Given that we should have the pick of the potential loanees that should come in the form of a decent player. Excepting that we cannot guarantee a starting place.

When talking about the standard of MLS, bear in mind that Adekugbe was a reserve player for one of its teams (was it Whitecaps? Or Toronto?).... not doing bad so far when thrown into the main squad
So, it's a YES for me for Keano, he could be an impact player covering the Baldock position.. yes, he's not as fast as he used to be, but his finishing and (hopefully) workrate more than makes up for that!

I wouldnt go as far as to say he did a good job but was ok and an improvement on what we had available at the time but as you pointed out he chased the money at 30 years old not as old as most who go there. I do not see what the problem is I have said that I would sign Keane and dangle the offer of a years contracrt in front of him if or when we get promoted.

You are good at trying to take the p..s but one day you will get something right if you keep trying. Nobody said we were offering a 7 day deal it was a suggestion that would have helped us out and may have been of benefit tio him in securing a contract with some club.
