Just been announced on Sky sports news Rob Green leaving West Ham on a free, could do a job, think wages would be a stumbling block.

They say you have to be crazy to play between the sticks, and funnily enough, that's where I used to play.

People that have never played in that position are way too quick to criticise keepers.

I think Rob Green is pure quality.

would love to see him between the sticks for us but as you say wages may be too high also would he want to come back down to Championship. Can't really understand why West Ham are letting him go, he's the 2nd best English keeper at the mo.

firstly he is a very good keeper who should be in the Premiership and secondly he's been released because West Ham are cutting their outrageous wage bill, so dont expect anyone other than a premiership club affording a new contract.

He refused a new and very lucrative contract offer having advised West Ham a year ago that he intended leaving but wanted to se eout his contract and try to get them back into the EPL. Word is he fancies a few years in La Liga and a deal is probably not far away.

West Ham signed Henderson from Portsmouth as No 3 with Jaaskalainen as No2 and hoping to sign Robinson from Blackburn as No.1. Not too shabby IMO considering all played for relegated sides this season.
