According to the gospel that is NSC

Bristol Rovers are the NSC team of choice in Bristol by
Sunderland are the NSC team of choice from the two big NE clubs

Now then, we move onto... Sheffield.

So Is the it the blades or owls?
The blunts/pigs or the pigs?

Neither of them mean anything to me apart from when they play Palarse next season.

How anyone who has been to Hillsboro' and Bramall Lane could vote for United is beyond me.:nono:
Then again every Wednesday fan I've ever met has turned out to be an arrogant TWUNT.

Nice ground, and thanks for the 1983 win and all that - but Bramall Lane is real ground.

Actually this annoys me. United were originally called the pigs owing to their kit looking like streaks of bacon. But their fans call the owls "pigs" because it takes one to know one. I don't know about you, but that strikes me as LAME.

What makes it worse is that the noddy clubs in the area like Rotherham and Barnsley now also refer to SW as the pigs. Poor.

isn't it something to do with bacon

a Sheffield Wednesday chairman once down the years refuse to eat bacon because of the red & white streaks so had some special blue & white striped stuff made, people found out and the pigs thing came from there?

or is that an urban myth?

I can't say I'm bothered either way. I have a mate who has a soft spot for Wednesday as he hails from up that way, and I was not too impressed by the "welcome" message left on a wall near Bramall Lane for away fans the last time I went there, but not having any connections with that part of the country it doesn't tend to worry me too much.

Benefit of going to Brammal Lane is you can drink in the Devonshire Cat until 230pm, then walk to the ground.

Hilsborough means you have to get the tram to it and the pubs around it are not great.

is it all about beer (Port, stilton et al) for you?
