No you’re thinking of Vince Clarke, Vince Hill played for a number of clubs but was mostly at Palace during the late 70s
Vince Hill played for Luton in the 80’s. He may have played for England I think,

I’m 47 and knew who he was, but then again, my lovely Dad drilled 50s and 60s music into my ears from birth so I can understand why Vince Hill might not have been on the radar for many.

I couldn’t tell you much about popular music after 2005 though! :D

He was one of those old school variety entertainers who you would find popping up in tv shows in the 70s and 80s.

He was a friend of my late father in law and his sister when they lived in the Coventry area

The year they canned TOTP, it’s all down hill after that. At least we had a weekly reference point to learn who was top of the Hit Parade. (However awful it sounded)
