This is rather serendiptous. Only last week while reading the John McCririck RIP thread the thought occurred to me, "I wonder if the actor Rip Torn is dead, because if he's not and he dies it will allow someone to do a RIP Rip joke". I was already primed to get in first if and when it happened which was less than a week later and I missed it.

I take the point, but serendipity involves chance and crucially happiness which is absent when someone dies.
