Classic tune of my childhood too and a regular on ‘Junior Choice’ on Saturday mornings. When we moved to a village called Honiley(Warwickshire) about 15 years ago I can confirm that Puff was still in hiding following Jackie’s departure

It was one of John's first big song writing accomplishments. His wife at the time told me it was what really sent his star rising and kept Mr. Denver away from her. Their marriage never recovered. Ironically the song was written about leaving his wife behind.

Yarrow had a very questionable personal history which included a conviction for molesting a child, for which, for some inexplicable reason, he received a Presidential pardon from Carter on his last day in office. The victim was non too happy...
