Sad death at only 48 from pancreatic cancer. To be honest, I don't recall him but his wiki page reports him as being on our books at one time. Irrespective of whether he was or wasn't, it's far too young.

Yes l remember him too, just. Irrespective of how good, or otherwise that he was, no one deserves to pass away at such a young age, and from such a dreadful disease.

I remember him playing for us, it doesn't feel like it was all that long ago but it was 23 years! Very sad to see him pass so young and from such a horrible disease. RIP Paul Linger, thoughts with his family.

Tribute to Paul in today’s match programme. Very sadly this has left Paul’s 6 year old son an orphan because his mother passed away last October. Life can be so cruel.
