Oh sh*te! Saw him a few months before Rainmaker (his first album) came out, at a folk club in Liverpool - sitting about six feet away from him! Breath-taking guitar playing, inspirational. So sorry that he's gone. Will pick up a guitar later and play a few chords in tribute to the man.

RIP Mike (as he was back then) Chapman.

Brilliant guitarist.
I passed up the chance to see him a couple of years ago because “he was always playing somewhere” - should have gone then !
RIP

Seen him loads of times, including the freebie in Hyde park, circa 1970, when Canned Heat were headlining. An exceptional talent. Liked ‘Fully Qualified Survivor’ best.
