It has recently been confirmed to us that Tony, aka hitony on here. has sadly recently passed away.

Although Tony was a less frequent poster on here after he lost his beloved wife Rose not so long ago, he has been a near ever-present on NSC since the very early days.

For much of that time Tony has been a moderator, giving up his time to help keep this community ticking along, bringing great care and humour to the role.

I'll sorely miss having Tony about, both on here and in the top-secret mods group which we use to talk about you all. Nicely, of course.

RIP Tony - an absolute gentleman who gave so much to this site.

Rip Hitony.

I never met him in the real world. He was an absolute gent on here, humour and good grace abound. My very best wishes to his family and friends.

Oh no. I never met him personally, but felt I 'knew' him because of his postings on here. Came over as a lovely guy, and I sure he'll be very sadly missed by all his friends and family.

RIP :(

Like others, enjoyed Hitony's posts and contributions over the years. I'm sorry to hear this and condolences to all the mods and those that knew him personally.

Sad news. Met him once when ticket exchanges were a simpler affair.

RIP Tony (Hitony).
My condolences to his family. I never met him, but was one of the NSC family and a memorable poster.

Very sad news. Tony always took everything in great humour, was hugely passionate about the Albion and had a lovely self-deprecating nature. He was always great fun on the matchday threads, particularly back in the Nationwide league days - when following the latest developments from Millmoor or Spotlands on a Tuesday in November wasn't quite as easy as it is these days. He really did add to the sense of fun, community and shared passion that this place engenders.

I'll miss him. Rest in peace, Tony.

Tony and Rose were both wonderful people who I was lucky enough to meet in person a few times, and Tony was a fantastic Mod and a big part of the NSC community for so many years.

He will be greatly missed here, by the Mod Team as a whole, and by me individually.

My thoughts and sincere condolences go out to his family.

RIP Tony.
