Ringo Starr - Prize Tosser

NMH

Come clean
Are you a "true" fan of his?
Or do you like him because you have his sig and it might be worth something?
Or is it both or possibly neither???

What is a 'true' fan of The Beatles?

Yes I like and admire their music and songwriting, and I think the drumming work on their records is top notch.
I like having their signatures, and I like that being worth something.
What's not to like?

How will you feel when Ringo kicks the bucket?
Seeing as your sig would then shoot up in value?;)

to play devils advocate, isnt this because he has a reputation for signing and answering everything sent to him? bit of a PR cock up but maybe he just doesnt want to do that anymore and is telling peopl to avoid disappointment?

narrating shit welsh train shows

*pedant alert*

you appear to be confusing Ivor the Engine and Thomas the Tank Engine. The former is certainly Welsh, but has never been narrated by Ringo Starr; the latter is English/Manx, and has been narrated by Ringo Starr (although he doesn't anymore).

Interviewer to the Beatles: "Is Ringo Starr the best drummer in the world?"

John Lennon: "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles."

...was a typical Lennon wind up. Though to be fair, McCartney IS a fine drummer in his own right.

Yep, it doesn't seem all that unreasonable to me either.

Well spotted, FB. Thomas the Tank Engine was set on the fictional island of Sodor and NOT in Wales, as my deliberate mistake implied.

Ahem.

The man is a god in my eyes. And his increasing curmudgeonliness is very much a part of that.

He came across as incredibly arrogant on Wossy a few months ago. So this new story doesn't surprise me. Still love Don't Pass Me By and Octopusses Garden, low on quality but had bags of charm. What has he done since apart from appear in a few shit films?

All of the Beatles come across as arrogant, or at least the ones that haven't perished. No-matter what levels they acheived we must never forget they are at heart working class and scouse and so should be treated with a degree of hatred and disdain at all times.

My dad met them in 1964 when they played in Brighton and he was working as a stage hand...he claims that Ringo was the only one who could be bothered to chat to the fans
