Abort, retry, fail
Gareth Woodgate and Andrew Woodman - Woody and Nord: A Football Friendship.

Fantastic book. Well worth buying.

I saw a second book the other day - Ooh Aah Stantona by Phil 'enimen' Stant :D

I loved Castel Di Sangro. Great book.

The Harry Pearson book about football in the North East is really good "The Far Corner"

As far as biographies go, there are very good offerings by:

Niall Quinn
Roy Keane
Stuart Pearce

Micky Quinn's is funny and Tony Cascarino's is 'different'

Lee Sharpe's is surprisingly good although there are no revelations about Abi Titmuss.

I'm nearly through Terry Butcher's at the moment. Nothing too special apart from demonstrating what ABSOLUTE PISSHEADS footballers were in the 1980s. If I tried to drink what he has done over the years I would almost certainly be in The Betty Ford Clinic by now. Unbelievable

Scally . . .. an account of football hooligan Andy Nicholls. The best football hooligan book by a mile.

i'm still struggling...

autobiographies - just don't like them
Gareth Woodgate and Andrew Woodman - Woody and Nord: A Football Friendship. - possible
The Far Corner" - read
Mascot - not heard of and can't seem to locate (any info - whats it about?)
Build a bonfire - read
A Season with Verona - Tim Parkes - read
Scally - not really interested in hooligan side of things
The far corner - read.

i'm worried that nothing will ever come close to Di Sangro...

Us vs. Them

Not overly "footbally" ... as much a travelogue as a football book, but excellent nonetheless. Giles Goodhead travels to the world's biggest derby games; River/Boca, AC/Inter, the big Mexican one at the Azteca. Quality read.

The far corner- an in depth walk through football in the North East and its affect on life.

Brilliant humerous and helps you understand exactly why the Mackems and Geordies love nothing but football.

excellent book

Don Revie's autobiography was really interesting.

If I remember rightly, that author used to write kids books about football, for when you were at primary school and had to sit and read for half the day but only really cared about football.

This is a really good book on Italian football culture, and pretty informative on talians in general (they hate each other)

Highly recommended
