i have every confidence they know what they're doing and we will be fine.

On the basis of our repeated failure to close the largest and most obvious gap in our team and squad? Or just blind faith?

I hope you are correct as currently we have more heading up recruitment ( Ashworth, Winstanley and Macaulay) than fit strikers. I also hope we get a couple in soon in case of injuries and suspensions, not to mention competition for places

This is an amazing post.

Hither and Thither
On the basis of our repeated failure to close the largest and most obvious gap in our team and squad? Or just blind faith?

On the basis that it must be harder than it looks to get players that every club is looking for and that if we start the season with Maupay and Connolly the management team will work out a way to play that works for us should it be required. And we owed something to Glenn to allow him to move on rather than be the back-up when he could be playing and scoring in his final season.

It was always the elephant in the room that 2 strikers is not enough, but the club are hardly gonna come out and say ‘we’re desperate for a new striker’ now are they? That’ll make other clubs bump their prices up for us.

No matter what our club say we have stupidly moved ourselves into a position where all other clubs KNOW we are desperate to sign a striker.

Potter wouldn't have let Murray go if he thought he'd be needing him this season. Whether the plan is to bring another attacker in, or to use a current player in a more advanced role - e.g. Propper - I'm sure everything is under control.
