BBC Sport - Football - Richie Barker promoted to Bury manager

after guiding them to promotion with six straight wins at the end of last season as caretaker boss, richie barker has been given the bury job full time

one of my favourite brighton players ever - hopefully he can continue the good start he has made to life as a manager and end up in the albion dugout when poyet inevitably moves onto bigger and better things

best of luck richie

Barker was the manager of Bury's youth team from July 2010. Barker became caretaker manager of Bury in April 2011 after Alan Knill left for Scunthorpe United with eight games left in the season. Barker led Bury to six consecutive victories and promotion to League One. He was named Football League Two Manager of the Month for April 2011. This successful spell led to him being appointed as Bury's permanent manager on 1st June 2011.
