Rather a contrast to "drink yourself to death" George Best. However, his death will go relatively un-noticed due to the media-powered frenzy over pickled George.
RIP.

RIP Richard, a tragic loss to motorsport. not many people will know but we have several British champions in the world of MOtorsport this year, they'll all go unnoticed, Gary Paffett winning the very competitive DTM at the tender age of 24 against the likes of Hakkinen and Alesi,.
Matt Neil whom I met earlier this year has won the BTCC, also Andy Priaulx won the WTCC
all relatively quiet, unassuming decent people plying their trade professionally and publicly without making complete dicks of themselves in the press and on our screens like footballers seem to have to do.

I take your point that it's very unlikely Richard Burns would ever get the same type of coverage, and had no intention of turning this into another George Best thread so sorry if it read that way.
Generally, it's just a shame that football attracts such hysteria and that a truly tragic sporting death will be virtually ignored.

RIP Richard.
