The Landgate bistro. It's where we went when Mrs G last had a weekend away.

It was fantastic food - although I was a bit distracted by the fact that it was the evening we were playing QPR and pretty much sealed promotion. I was following the game on my phone and cheered when Pocognoli scored - the waiting staff were all pretty cool about it.

Back to the food, I seem to remember the cheese board was especially good.

That was on the shortlist, so will probably give it a go

The Mermaid Inn does outstanding food in an absolutely perfect pub setting. Have a great Honeymoon.

P.S Lovely tea shop for cream tea on the cobbles leading up to the church, too. Forget it’s name .

Sadly the Mermaid is fully booked, pretty sure I have been to that tea shop a while ago, was great

Start with drinks in Ypres. Near church.
I would say Tuscan or mermaid but one I think is closed and the other you say fully booked.
Landgate bistro is great.
Webb's fish cafe great.
Otherwise pop over to Peasmarsh and check out the Horse and Cart. Just over roadb from me. Great place.
Have a great time in Rye.

Everywhere is booked up !! They've managed to squeeze us in to our hotel, The Ship tonight. Bit annoyed but never had to think about pre booking restaurants before, guess it's good weather and bank holiday and a few places shut. Every hotel is fully booked

Unless I'm having yet another senior moment. I thought The Royal Oak at Pett is no more.

I once stopped off at The Plough at Cock Marling for a pint on a bike ride. I was the only one in there as it was daytime and got chatting to the landlord, who turned out to Belgian. For any cyclist, you can well imagine that I'd struck gold! Had a lovely old chinwag with him about all things bike related.

Looked quite posh in there with some pretty fancy fare on offer. I certainly enjoyed my pint of Long Blonde.

The Royal Oak is under new management.

Was closed for quite a while though wasn't it? Or did I imagine that?

Not been past there in a while unfortunately.
