The residents voted for it, so it's happened! If they'd voted against it, it wouldn't be happening. I think the residents will, like everyone else, quite like it pretty soon. It frees up the road and sends those just looking to park for free, elsewhere. You have to pay for the priviledge, but that's how it is these days.

i take it there is the usual concessions for untaxed vehicles

3 tickets and then it gets towed away. Assuming it's doing something wrong, of course. Always happens in any new zone, there are a number of cars which have been dumped, and are taken care of courtesy of the tow truck.

Yet another privilege tax,
1 for those without the foresight to buy a house with a drive,
2, stopping honest law abiding drivers who through their car tax have paid for the road usage and are now being further restricted.

Bad news, none of these taxation schemes will ever be rescinded. Why may I ask have residents got any juristriction over public roads? They do not have sole right over them but are there for all road users. Before long no one from the outside will be allowed into cities like Brighton without travelling on shitty public transport. I for one have no intention of putting any of my money into the place apart from visiting the football/cricket grounds.

How about something radical ban anyone who does not have a drive from having a car, thus freeing up space for those that do and wish to visit the city.

Rant over :fishing:

You sure? I take it you mean by the PDSA which could be the answer!

No I mean Preston Village and Lauriston Road etc all closer to the Station than Millers Road which is in the catchment area
