possibly stronger than the side we put out at Northampton in the paintpot trophy although it probably lacks a cutting edge. I'm really interested to see how good Baz might be as he develops

If they play like they did agaisnt Brentford the other night, should be a very entertaining game.

Most of the team going for a place on the bench at present, you could see Gus the other night paying attention to everyone and shouted lots of support for Gary Hart and Baz. Hart is playing as well as when Slade was manager an had to put in back in the first team on form. I cannot see this happening with our current squad but would expect Baz and OGH (and others in this line up) to play some part in the first team over the coming weeks.

Why the two new development squad additions not in the team?

I imagine on they are on the bench, the lad from Villa was quality last Tuesday agaisnt Brentford.

We are so good at the moment its difficult to even get a game in the reserves.

Anyone know where I can get the commentary for free :p

Should be at least one up by now.

Looks like the Tottenham lad has lost out because Bridcutt needs to play.

From the argus

Liam Bridcutt has a run-out for Albion's unbeaten reserves at Aldershot today (2pm).

The former Chelsea midfielder replaces recent development squad recruit Yaser Kasim in the only change to the team that beat Brentford 4-1 at Lancing last week.

Albion (4-1-2-1-2): Brezovan; Whing, Hall, Dunk, Taricco; Bridcutt; Battipiedi, Jamie Smith; Baz; Hart, Agdestein.

Two strong Reserve teams met at the EBB Stadium as Kevin Dillon gave Shots squad players a run-out. Danny Hylton showed no sign of his recent illness as an early marauding run stretched the visitors defence. But Shots faced an uphill challenge when John Halls received a 6th minute red card for an off-the-ball incident.

Two veterans combined when forward Gary Hart came close; latching on to Mauricio Taricco's curled pass to drive his shot a foot high of Kitteridge's bar. Brighton took the lead on 18 minutes. Augustin Battipiedi hitting a pass to Liam Birdcutt who hit a stinging half-volley inside the near post.

Shots had a decent opening shortly after; battling Luke Gutteridge won the ball and passed wide to Jamie Vincent. His cross reached Hylton's strong leap, but he flashed his header narrowly wide.

On the half-hour a rough bodycheck from Lewis Dunk on Wade Small destroyed Shots' counter attack. This drew an angry response from Aldershot players but no card.

Predictably Brighton's numerical advantage led to further openings. Kitteridge was required to save from Baz and Agdestein in quick succession. On half-time Shots nearly equalised as Jermaine McGlashan slipped past Taricco but Hylton couldn't get enough connection with the cross.

Jack Randall continued his return from a broken ankle taking most of Shots set pieces very ably. At the start of the second half Randall jinked between two defenders but his left foot shot had no pace. As Brighton continued to push forward Clayton Fortune made a couple of strong blocks.

In the 54th minute Shots conceded a soft goal. A freekick was played between Shots central defenders into Agdestein's run. He skipped past Kitteridge then took his time to roll the ball into the net.

A spate of changes reduced the experience of both sides, but Brighton continued to dominate. It was 3-0 after 69 minutes when the Shots defence were pushed too deep, Andy Whing crossed and Torbjorn Agdestein clipped past Kitteridge from close range.

However Aldershot rallied, McGlashan and Mekki both showed pace to create space and opportunities. Following a foul on Mekki, Randall's curled free-kick spun inches wide of goal.

As the match drew to a close patient Brighton passing led to Christian Baz in space, but Henrik Breimyr covered well to charge down his shot which spun over the bar.

Aldershot: Ross Kitteridge; Bradley Pegg, Jamie Vincent (Henrik Breimyr 46), Aaron Morris, Clayton Fortune (Adam Mekki 65); Jermaine McGlashan, John Halls (Reece Connolly 60), Luke Gutteridge, Danny Hylton; Wade Small, Jack Randall. Unused subs James Pilgrim, Luke Hutchings.

Brighton: Peter Brezovan; Andy Whing, Mauricio Taricco, Grant Hall, Jamie Smith; Agustin Battipiedi (Conor Wilkins 70), Lewis Dunk (Ryan Simmonds 58), Liam Birdcutt, Torbjorn Agdestein; Gary Hart (George Barker 79), Christian Baz.
