The annual Albion Collectors’ Fair and Auction, postponed in early December, will take place this coming Sunday, 16th January.

As usual, it will feature thousands of Albion programmes at low prices, along with pictures, books, videos and other memorabilia related to the club. Jack Straw’s 2011 Amex Stadium Countdown Calendar will also be on sale.

The fair will be followed by an auction of Albion memorabilia, with an eclectic mix of lots that could see supporters netting bargains or rare items. Extra lots have been added since the postponement, including perhaps the star item: a pair of precision-manufactured, hand-painted, steel Albion badges that would set off the iron gates of any supporter’s home superbly! They have an estimate of £600. A picture of one gate is here.

The fair takes place in the Hospitality Suite at Withdean Stadium, entered from the main car-park via Gate 21. Doors open at 11am and admission is free. Light refreshments will be available.

The auction follows at 1pm. A catalogue is available online at www.albionhistory.org.uk. Maximum bids may be placed in advance by those who cannot attend on the day.

The fair is the main fund-raising event of the Albion Collectors’ and Historians’ Society which is providing the museum at the new Amex Stadium.

Please note that, in the event of adverse weather, visitors to the fair should check the above website.

Thanks

You could have purchased a table for £10, but sorry, you are too late this time. We hold this fair in the autumn each year - weather permitting. Be warned, though, that there will be thousands of programmes on sale at low prices. You may get more for them on eBay - but I don't envy you having to put loads on. Programmes from circa 1977 onwards to 1995, and 1999 to date are pretty common and you might not sell many. If they are anything other than in good condition you might as well put them in the recycling bin or give to a charity shop. The occasional cup tie might be more sought after, for instance some of the four-page League Cup or Associate Members' Cup issues; or even the Newcastle (home and away) progs from 1982/83. Good luck!

I'm hoping to make it, there's one programme in particular I'd love to get my hands on.
