I just watched GP's press conference for the Leeds game. Seriously impressive once again - https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/my-albion-tv/videos/2761032/potters-leeds-united-press-conference

I hope he's here for years and leads us to Europe season after season, but when he eventually goes, I wonder if he could be replaced by an internal appointment.

The expectation is that you go externally and hire one of the available managers off the merry-go-round. If you're really well organised you might spot a diamond in the rough at a club like Swansea. But I have a suspicion that we might be cultivating our next manager internally. It wouldn't be surprising given the way we look to develop playing talent by spotting talent early and then developing it.

I watched Bruno running the warm up sessions at FGR and the thought occurred to me that perhaps I could be looking at our next manager. Or perhaps someone else within the set-up. It would be very Brighton.

Possible or ridiculous?

I believe in living in the present and don't waste time speculating about what may or may not happen in the future. No disrespect intended.

Right now is great and I have faith in the excellent management team to have plans in place for a wide range of eventualities; that's enough for me.

Will no one spare a thought for Swansman? He'll have to move from here lock, stock and barrel

I don't think GP could be replaced, like for like. However, about a year ago I drew up my top five picks to manage Brighton after Potter, in no particular order. Liam Rosenior, Bruno, Steve Cooper, Nathan Jones, Russell Martin

If he's still here in a year I'll be delighted. Probably one of two things will have happened, we either end up underwhelming into a bottom half finish, or he fancies staying on when we're in Europe.

As to his replacement, it has to be a continuity candidate in terms of tactical nous and personality, not an easy combination as Potter seems very unique.

Part of me would love us to be the first side to employ a female manager, whether Emma Hayes or Sabrina Wiegman. They just feel like a good fit to me.

I wouldn't discount Bjorn Hamberg, who has been assistant manager to Graham Potter, since January 2011, for over 400 games.

Graham Potter is the best coach to have ever managed us, and is clearly the best coach in Europe. We're just lucky he's English because it's unlikely and unfashionable for a top 6 club to appoint an English coach.

We're very, very lucky to have him.

The best coach in Europe? me thinks you are getting a tad carried away there.
