Following on from the "I've lost my camera" thread. Anyone got one of these ? looks pretty good and the insurance compnay should pay for it with no probs.

I don't have one, but you could get a much better camera than that one for the money you will pay for it.

And 9.24MP is way more than you will ever need.

I have a very nifty Casio Exlim at present, got Casio staff discount on it as we buy loads of stuff of them.

like what then?

One thing that pissed me off about my previous digital is that it was not brilliant at action shots - it always came out blurred....ie point...click...wait...click...= blurred

The blur - you need to take pictures at a faster shutter speed/higher ISO to avoid it.

I don't know what settings you had your previous Canon set to but the A60 while good it it's day is old now and the old Canons had a lot of noise at ISO400 (which was the maximum on your old camera). Something that is much better now.

I'm a Canon girl and worship my Rebel. I have a Canon S3 for a little point and shot that's not quite a dSLR.

If I were buying a handy little camera today I'd get the Canon A700. It's 6x optical, 6mp and will take decent sports shots if you set it up to do so and use some of the manual features it has.

This is a good price for it -

The non-SLR Fuji digitals are little sods for shutter lag. Regardless of how much you tinker with the shutter speed or ISO. However, I tend to think that most people who aren't wanting a digital SLR actually want something for point and shoot purposes and rarely go off auto.

Having said all this, I have a lingering fondness for my old Fuji S304 but personally I'd recommend something from the Nikon Coolpix range if that's the sort of price you are looking to pay.
