As a Francophile I would obviously welcome this with open arms...... which I would expect the concourse staff to fill with confit de canard, foie gras, brie baguettes and bottles of Pomerol 1er Cru on French Day.

I've just been reading about his time in management and am not surprised his name has been linked. He looks a great fit, he seems a Bloom-style appointment and he is out of contract.

Lots of work done in the Lyon Youth Academy, 7 years as assistant during Lyons glory years, he came in when their budget was slashed but has kept them competitive and brought through the youth. Tactically he seems flexible and his teams play good football.

The only name in the frame that has really got me excited thus far is Paul Clement, but Garde ticks many of the same boxes so this is a welcome development.

Et, à Les Porcelets: une tourte aux viande de boeuf et la biére.

Avec un grand Strongbow s'il vous plâit.

Agree. There's something of the Doddsy (Phil Neal) character in Mike Bassett about him. Would be a shockingly awful appointment.

Can't see the similarity myself. :dunce:
