Visited the PRH this morning at 6.00 am with an abscess in my thigh was told by a Chinese male nurse that it wasn't there problem and to go to my GP may seem irrelevant to a few people on here but just wondered what your views are.Had to wait 6 hours b4 I could get the proper treatment at my doctors

Not sure why you had to point out that the nurse was Chinese.

He was a nurse and I would suggest he made the call as he saw it.

That is no way having a pop at you and I hope the problem is now being treated.

Doesn't look like an emergency to me & admittedly your dr appears to have sorted it ? What's up?

Also why reference the hospital workers nationality ?

Really? I never see A&E turn away drunks. Sorry If I come across uncaring but can't ever see A&E turning anyone away with something like that. Have you been in contact with the Argus? They'd love to run a story like that and expose the staff who turned you away.

Man up.
Squeeze it.
Get on with your day.

5 years at doctor school taught me all I need to know.

Why would you go to the Argus? Where did you get your abscess treated in the end?

Lets hope nothing like this happens to you then

Yes. But if it did wouldn't I first call my GP or NHS Direct for advice. I guess you did that first and they advised you what to do.

I'm not medically trained but I have to say that doesn't look either an accident or an emergency hence why you should've gone to your GP in the first place.
