I would just like to see if it is only me or have the referees in euro 2012 been reluctant to throw cards around like they normally do at major tournaments & have also seemed to let a lot of tackles go rather than blow for a foul.

Yes, I've noticed that they seem keen on letting the games flow a bit more. I think they've got it pretty much spot on, and apart from a few dodgy decisions, they have been generally consistent in giving free kicks and awarding cards.

I agree the Refs seem to be trying to let games flow but thought England got poor protection tonight (Scott Parker in particular) and especially in our last game against the French who seemed to get away with all sorts of rough stuff yet Oxo-Chamberlain got a yellow for a nothing powder puff challenge. The French got away with a potential sending off in the 1st half tonight which otherwise may well have changed the game and Group. Its fine if the Refs are trying to be less petty - but they have to be consistent.

It's been good in general, preventing masses of players missing games due to multiple yellows. Also, they aren't falling for diving cheats in the main.

But, Svensson I think carried out a spiteful body check on Parker tonight, and the French cynically fouled repeatedly to stop England counters ... all missed by the 2 referees.

Cabaye should have been punished in the england game for his persistent fouling. He was like that at the Amex but did get booked I think. Also almost every throw in seems to be a foul throw but the officials are more concerned with getting the game restarted I suppose.

Made me chuckle with the reality of it. French international previously at the Amex :lolol: :albion:

I think the officials have been very positive in letting the game flow by ignoring diving by players. Unfortunately they have been too lenient on some cynical blocking (particularly against England), however it is a price worth paying to stop the usual bloody diving and rolling around by players. UEFA under Platini have usurped FIFA in running a decent torney imo.
