Redknapp is now officially down to the "bare bones", with a squad of a mere 40 odd.

And Southampton have signed Kevin Phillips. Our sailor friends must be crying this afternoon.

I wouldn't mind but Pompey had one of the largest squads in the 1st Division last season and have done for years. THeir wage bill last year was something like the 2nd highest in the division.

So when Harry claims he's down to his last few fit players, what he means is: "I've got dozens of fit players left, but they're all complete carthorses, and I wouldn't dare play them against the likes of Arsenal".

Bones, schmones. Here's hoping they get caned every week.
