Tonight at 9 on Dave sees the return of RD in the first of a 3-part episode....I want it to be good as I love Red Dwarf, but my main hope is that it doesn't turn out to be an embarrassing shadow of something that was, at it's peak, a very funny show.

Anyone else tuning in?

I had a sudden panic, I wanted to check it out, but have a couple of otherprograms on at 9 (and 10 so the dave+1 wasn't an option). Fortunately it is repeated at 11.30 according to my OSG

Dave +1 sounded a bit like a wedding invitation so it has been renamed Dave ja vu.

Well, that was just....wrong, somehow.

Storyline-wise, obviously its purpose was to set up for the next two parts, and it did that well enough, but I didn't like the way that everything was all new and shiny, it just seemed very un-Red Dwarf.

nah, was alright. tried to be a bit clever with some camera direction (individual shots rather than wide group), but generally par for the course. set, costume and stuff changed between differeent series before, but the basic feel was there.

most disappointing thing was it was only 30min, with ads thats probably 20min. shame they didnt make it to full ~30min.

Poor shell of the show it once was. But it's hardly surprising since the last series (made after one of the creators left) was an absolute crock of universally panned shit.

Couple of moments worthy of a brief titter but overall the storyline felt a bit pompous and even desperate to be honest.

pretty much my summary aswell to be honest , very disapointed with it .. I actually didn't even mind the idea that much , just felt it was poorly executed.
