Didn't Henry Hughton get sent off for that career ending assault on Gerry Ryan back in the 80s. Can't recall another sending off for Palace since then (surely there must have been some)

My memory is a little hazy on that Dunk one at Selhurst but they were both probably reds, weren't they? We'd want them given if against us...

Dunk received a ball from (I think Greer) from the right. It was hit a bit hard and he mis controlled it allowing Bolasie in but Dunk tripped him just outside the box.

Not sure on the Bolasie one. He dived but there was a trip and it was a fair way outside the area if I recall - then just ruined the game so didn’t really feel like a scum loss...

But after the pen they got earlier this season, despite VAR being there, we are due one. Yes our pen in the 3-1 was soft as **** but we’re certainly owed a few decisions...

Also, have we ever had any luck at all in one of these games?

Something from the refs that goes our way

Have we ever had a marginal penalty decision or any penalty decision?

Have we ever scraped a point we didn't deserve?

Palace every time, get luck in these fixtures .... all the way back to Kelvin Morton

Knocky first minute studs up challenge I the 1-2 recent second leg of the double game, was a tad lucky not to be red, and the penalty in he 3-1 10 man game wasn’t a pen, but, Murray should have had one just before Duffy was sent off, so swings and roundabouts.
Montoya brought down in the 1-1 draw last season, was a definite pen but was just ignored by everyone.

And Knocky was very lucky to stay on the field in our 2-1 win at Selhurst

Maybe, yes.

Although their player himself, went in equally recklessly, which I think saved Knockaert.

And just to rub salt in the wound, it was Knocky who went on to score a WORLDY of a winner in the last minute of that game. Which somewhat upset them a bit.

Lovely stuff.

Didn't the ref explain at some stage afterwards it was exactly that: they were both reckless so if 1 got a red, then the other would too. It's just Knockaert got the upper hand in it.

It wasn’t the last minute. Think it was around 70.

The celebrations in the away end were insane as it was, I dread to think what it would’ve been like if he did it in the last minute of the game.

The only bit of luck I can think of was Knockers wasn't sent off in the first 5 minutes when he scored the worldie. With VAR that would have been a red all day long.

Edit: I see this has already been mentioned a fair bit. must read thread before commenting.

Yes you're right. I ended up consuming a fair amount that day, which has blurred my recollection.

So, do I take it that Hughton was the last Palace player sent off against us and, since then, we've had six players dismissed?

That's some imbalance

I think a Palace player may have been sent off late on when we drew with them 0-0 under Coppell at Withdean but I’m not certain.

Knockaert could/should have been sent off for a studs up foul on Milivojevic in the second minute of the 2-1 away victory in which Knockaert scored the winner.
Scenes.

The 0-0 in March 2003 was on the due date of my son’s birth (he held on for another 6 days - he’s 18 in 6 weeks time)
I arrived 3 hours early in order to park in the Withdean car park just in case I had to make a quick getaway!

We THRASHED them off the park nil - nil. I Still don’t know how we didn’t win that night.

Izquierdo won a penalty in the 3-1 that was generous to say the least.
