Just thinking about some of our recruitment successes and we’ve managed to get some real bargains as per the list below. The transfer fees are what I could find reported.

Bargains:
Moder £6m
Bissouma £15m
Trossard £18m
Cucurella £15m
Lamptey £3m
Mac Allister £7m
Burn £4m
Veltman £900,000
Alzate £?? (But low?)

Decent prices (will possibly be considered bargains in the future)
Webster £22m
Maupay £20m
Mwepu £18m

But some duds as well Jahanbakhsh, Locadia and the one that came from same club as Gross but name eludes me - Sutner ?

On balance though, it’s been very successful. Can’t avoid the occasional dud. Markus Suttner was ok and didn’t cost loads, so not quite in the same league as Ali J and Locadia.

I can’t believe I missed Gross off the list of bargains!

You are right but recruitment has moved on at pace in the last 2/3 years

I am still not quite sure if Trossard has been quite at the level of 'bargain' yet.

14 goals and 9 assists in 2 and a half seasons. It's good but is it a bargain? Maybe?

Edit: just a random thought. Still good business for one of our better players anyway

And if you chuck in the likes of Lopez, Orlandi, Vicente, that fullback who’s name eluded me but scored that free kick, we’ve been pretty good over the last ten years.

All EPL clubs sign expensive duds (perhaps Burnley aside as Stephens was pretty cheap!).

Just be thankful that we are 6 places above the basket case club who signed this £150m+ list of flops:

Cenk Tosun - £27m
Morgan Schneiderlin - £24m
Davy Klaassen - £23m
Yannick Bolasie - £25m
Theo Walcott - £20m
Gylfi Sigurdsson - £45m
Moises Keane - £24m

I think he’s worth a lot of money.

No mention of Gross at £3m? He is the new Connolly, I guess.

What could we sell him for? Not that we want to.
