I was always fairly Eastbourne is dull etc but go there on occasion now and you can park all day cheaply and a fair range of shops. Housing seems reasonable.

That said I wouldn't want live there.

It has a pretty young population these days. To many people on here believing the media etc. The meads area is where the largest population of elderly live.
Great unspoilt seafront.
Surrounded by great countryside.
Cheap parking although plenty of free parking in Eastbourne.
Sunshine capital
Yes there are dodgy areas and but that goes for most places
Shopping centre is lacking in decent shops but the £80 million investment to rebuild a large area of the arndale centre starting later this year can only be an improvement.

I lived in Old Town 1999-2006 great place for bringing up your kids

my house backed onto the park, football goals with nets and tennis courts that were not vandalized

good schools and generally a safe town centre

really enjoyed my time there

is TJ's still going?

it used to be the best night club in Eastbourne

It's still hugely over-burdened with retired people; from the back of my house I can see the Rodmill Estate, a field of bungalows all with immaculate gardens and hardly any cars parked on the road because they're all in the garage. It's also where the former mayor ran herself a couple of weeks ago.

i had a great kebab there in 1989,one of the best ive ever had.

I parked the whole thing along with 15 pints of cider in my brothers sock draw about an hour later but in fairness it tasted the same coming out as it did going in........a true sign of a good kebab.

its little details like this that make a town great.......even Eastbourne

there was a cracking burger bar not far from caleb's

the burgers were named after places in the world

I always used to have a Canadian, took some finishing and was very tasty

A lot less weirdos than Brighton or Hastings. A lot cleaner too.

Well this. Plus excellent and well maintained architecture with good amenities. I can see why folk retire there. I like Eastbourne.

Best burger shop ever, decent little football club and Newhaven as your neighbour

Lovely for a young family too. Genuinely the only two things it needs is access road to the a27 and a train station.
