Have just been reading (for the 100th time) the history of BHA and the Goldstone - Does anyone know if there are pictures on the net that show the ground back in the early 1900's?

Not sure, but there's a good shop on Queen's Road (opposite Polar Bar) that does a decent selection of old pictures from right back at the start of the century. I've got a really good old picture of The Goldstone from about 1919 framed on my bedroom wall.

Me too ! Is that the one with all the thousands of bikes lined up outside the ground and the odd motorcar. Classic.

Got that picture I think its 1909 ....I got mine in the antigue shops in Kensington Gardens.

Pride of Place.

Yes, bought it from the old club shop at The Goldstone. Fiver I think. Had to frame it myself, but it takes pride of place on my wall alongside the aformentioned old photo. Draped over it is a piece of net from the north goal.

Arial shot of Withdean, anyone?

If they go in, then it's going to be binocular city....has a decision been made? I have been away for 3 weeks, but did get a letter from the council when I got back saying my opinion had been noted....:D

Rusthall, your avatar is awakening an intense, nostalgic yearning from deep within my loins. Such a familiar sight from my youth, as I'd dash out of that door on the right, proudly clutching my new Albion shirt, or some other piece of tat from beneath the glass counter.
