Anyone had their house rewired/work in this field? I am curious as to what sort of price people charge.

Had mine done a few years ago and wasn't that happy with the results. The wiring is fine but they didn't make good after so I ended up having to do the plastering and the like. Cost about 2000 for a 2 bedroomed house with some extra bits and pieces.

Get several quotes if you can, make sure it includes things like making good, or if not make them reduce the price. And make sure they tidy up afterwards.

Got my two bedroom flat rewired about 3 years ago, live in south london, cost about £1800. They did a great job, though if you look closely you can still see the marks where they drilled, but its better than having trunking all over the place. New fuse board and all the kitchen appliances put on spurs with a couple of spares in case, all plug sockets changed and a socket put in the garden for the mower.

I was lucky though as it seems the two lads who ran the company had a falling out soon after and are no more.

Are the police investigating? Have they got any leads?
Apparently their efforts are being met with a lot of resistance
