Ravel Morrison

I'm a Brentford fan. I went on our pre-season tour of Leipzig.

I flew back on Wednesday night and Ravel Morrison (West Ham player - former Man U) was on the plane with his agent who was really giving him a dressing down when walking from the plane to Passport control. Telling him that he needs to stop saying he's going to change and actually get his arse into gear and stop mucking up chances.

Anyway, his agent told him that 'this Brighton lifeline was probably his last one'.

He didn't sound very enthusiastic but his agent basically told him that it was his fault that he wasn't at United. The agent then clocked that me and my mate were eves-dropping.

Thought i'd pass it on anyway - make of it what you wish.

I like Brighton. I'm really glad to see a similar size club to us doing so well in the championship. When we get our new ground, I think we can push on like you lot.

Meant to have the potential to be quite good, but seems to have a lot of baggage and attitude. If he sorted that out, great, but otherwise I'm not convinced he's that much better than what we do have to justify the hassle

Does seem a bit strange a player coming on what sounds like a trial when the team are in Spain

Also, giving the benefit of the doubt that this isn't a windup, he's six months into a three year contract so unless West Ham have had enough of him seems an odd one

He's supposed to be one of the most talented youngsters ever at United but is a real delinquent, being done for witness intimidation etc. I don't think his talent is in question and normally (if this is true) he would be worth a go but if Sir Alex (and Allardyce) couldn't straighten him out I don't expect Gus could either but you never know.

Seems young Morrison left the WHU tour in Germany early, either down to "illness" or picking a fight with a team mate. Talented and troubled, but why would someone go to the trouble of making this up as a wind up ? No one is exactly excited at the prospect and for all of the above reasons, I think this could be plausible and in good faith. Of course even if the conversation as reported is true, the agent could well be talking complete shite and then we will never know.

Awful attitude, and has constantly in trouble while he was at United. For United to deem him one of their best every academy products, and then sell him on at 18 years old just because he is trouble is really saying something, definitely not worth the hassle. I don't recall him playing much for West Ham last season either. I hope he doesn't come to Brighton, it would be bad for the dressing room and he isn't the powerful box to box midfielder we need.

Incidentally, can't help wondering if Ravel Morrison will prove to be another Leon Knight - untapped potential and wasted talent due to serious 'attitood' problem, and grossly exaggerated (and unjustified) belief in own importance. Hope I'm wrong......

Really interesting article, thanks for posting. I have no time for players like him, they don't deserve the talent they have been gifted with. If I was in the Manchester United reserves, I would be busting my f***ing nut to make it, not getting involved in gang robberies, stealing from the first team and skipping training sessions every week/month. Could be worth £40M in the future with the likes of Barcelona, PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal after him, but because he is that much trouble, it's just not worth it.
