There is a fair degree of brinkmanship here. Rangers stand accused by HMRC of bonus payments to players with no tax being paid, the bill could be over £40m. So Craig Whyte , the new owner has sort of said to HMRC, ' here's our proposal for a settlement, take it or we go into administration and you get nothing'. Simplistic but that is about the long and the short of it.
I reckon it will be settled and the threat will be removed.

Just an opinion from a Glasgow resident and Rangers fan.
