Looking through my old Brighton stuff I have found a badge that says "Support the Seagulls, remember its Brighton FC and not Bamber FC!", does anybody know what/when this relates to as it was a bit before my time and I have no idea where I got it from?

Yep. In 1984 people were questionning Bamber's funding and commitment to the club and what happened to the cup final profits. At the same time local impressarios the Kruger brothers and Jon Roseman were launching a takeover bid of the club, the badge you refer to was part of their campaign
