Add Jamie Moralee to that esteemed company and you’ve got a 5 a side team I’d be happy to play in goal against...even pop to the bar during play.

Used to make me laugh during the Priestfield days when Moralee turned up to watch if he was out injured. I used to sit in the main stand and he always used to make a grand entrance with some Page 3 dolly bird type on his arm.

A touch of professionalism in our amateur wilderness years . You can’t teach that type of self aggrandisement to youngsters these days...

David Adekola.
Christer Warren.
Steve Barnes.
Simon (Jolly) Rodger.
Phil Stant.

Derek Allan - loved him, no nonsense centre half.

George Parris - man, he was terrible (with us.)

At least three or four loanees and two or three permanent players, ultimately some of our most obscure and brilliant (not necessarily good) signings of yore.

One player I always remember for looking brilliant until injury derailed him was: Darragh Ryan... Could have been a superb player imho.

Geoff Sidebottom ?

Remember him getting knocked unconscious, being bought round with smelling salts and the game starting up again. He was then squatting on his haunches and rolling over as he passed out again.

He was a bit perma tan wasn’t he? Ahead of his time in that respect, a right ponce as they used to say before male grooming was a thing and blokes at most carried a comb.

Now who was the guy from Aldershot in the Withdean days who dated Holly Valance from neighbours. Johnny something wasn’t it? Equally shite but obviously had other talents. Retired to pursue film making I think.

Did he not have to retire owing to double vision caused by headbutting the posts?

I preferred Brian Powney.
