Talking with some mates before the match today and for some reason McPhee came up. Now I said that I remember one season (must've been when we won play offs?) where he scored 10 - 15 goals for us. Wikipedia says he only scored 4 in his career with us but I know that doesn't count cups but that doesn't seem right...? Can somone dig up the stats on this pls as my google search didn't work...

ALSO we had a disagreement over this - I'm SURE i read last year that McPhee was in tempory charge as manager or assistant manager somewhere (maybe Woking or Kiddiminster?) just for a game or two when their manager had been sacked? Again google and NSC search brought nothing - Did this happen or am I going MAD?

Thanks

Yeah it was the season we went up through the play offs. He had a spell early in the season alongside Knight where he knocked a few in, before we signed Trevor Benjamin on loan and then Iwelumo. I remember him scoring two against Blackpool at home I think, but four goals is probably about right?!

As for the managerial thing, yes I think he was caretaker manager for one match for Kidderminster towards the end of last season. Bit of an odd one I guess, but I always remember him being a clued up, common sense individual.

My mates were ripping me all day about the manager thing but I was sure I was right. I just remember the DVD where he bagged a few - someone else said he got about 9 that season - did he not score 5 in the cup that yr?!?!?!?! Remember him netting one at Loftus Road that yr in the LDV i'm sure

Yeah it's strange - it does seem that he scored more than four goals for us?!

I guess not though. To be fair he's gone on to have a decent career, albeit in Conference football. I'm sure I rememeber him scoring the winner for Ebbsfleet in the FA Trophy at Wembley a couple of years ago? I think he's played as a right midfielder, sometimes even a right back since he left us.

Isn't that a contradictory statement? For joe public, playing in conference football would probably be beyond our wildest dreams but as a professional football, it can hardly be described as a 'decent' career!!!!
