Rail travel from Polegate and Eastbourne

Seems very unfair that issue of travel costs form these towns has not been addressed
Seaford to Falmer = free
H Heath to Falmer = free
Worthing to Falmer = free
Polegate to Lewes £6.50 return

Subsidies on travel do not seem balanced

Don't like to moan as great team, great stadium ,great management team

Yes pisses me off, especially when haywards Heath to Amex is free..

I have to travel to seaford from eastbourne to get free train travel,
A Right nightmare would like a drink etc before the game but I have to drive, so can't!

Costs me I think £7.50 from eastbourne

Being from Eastbourne, I agree, though to extend the zone, it would bump the subsidy up which everyone would pay.

I also agree, the subsidies are heavily weighted towards the north and west of Falmer. While clearly any increase in the travel free zone is going to come at a cost it should be looked at. Last year it was more expensive to buy a ticket to Lewes and a travel voucher than it was to buy a return from Eastbourne to Falmer!!

Eastbourne to Falmer return = £8.90
Eastbourne to Lewes return = £7.40
So the club is subsidising it to the tune of £1.50 per game, over 23 games that's £34.50
The subsidy cost is £50
So those of us from the East are actually paying £15.50 more in order to subsidise those from elsewhere

If you added everything up then asked for a rebate it would defeat the purpose of the subsidy. I'm sure the club pays a discount ordering 25,000 tickets in bulk.

This question was put to Paul Barber at a recent Q&A with some fans.

It appears to be unfair that the free travel zone doesn’t extend beyond Lewes towards
Uckfield or Eastbourne.
Answer: Albion are investigating with the rail and bus service providers to see if they will
extend the “free” travel zone to the east. However, it will ultimately be down to the
providers. Whatever happens, ultimately there will be someone in the free zone and
someone traveling in from just the other side of it.

Which is 10 stops from Falmer, Glynde is 2 stops but you need to pay.
