Albert Riera hits out at Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez

Riera's only appearances since January have come in the Europa League
Liverpool winger Albert Riera says he is considering leaving the club after being given the silent treatment by Reds manager Rafael Benitez.

Riera, who wants to get into Spain's World Cup squad, thinks Benitez has something "personal" against him and is "turning a deaf ear" to his players.

"He's never sorted out a situation with a player by talking with him," the 27-year-old player told Radio Marca.

Liverpool go into Thursday's Europa League tie trailing Lille 1-0.

The competition offers the Reds their only remaining chance of silverware in a disappointing season following early exits from the Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup.

Sounds like someone is throwing his toys out the pram because he isn't getting games to me.

But he's right, just like King Leon was with McGhee, who like Rafa isn't far away from having to find another job the looks of it.

Well done Albert!

Not like "King" Leon at all then, seeing as Leon Knight's career turned to shite the minute he left Swansea to the extent that he can't get a game for Hamilton. :lolol:

Or Liverpool are completely imploding, the manager is stubborn as a mule (this is well documented), and a player is hoping to highlight the situation?

He can't get a game for Hamilton because he has dropped down a league for 'personal reasons' and has taken up his role again as a (drama) Queen of the South.

Why is Rafa Benitez being made out to be a shit manager?

He's won the Champions League, and reached another final, he's just finished 2nd in the Premiership with a points total that would normally have won it, he's won the FA Cup and League Cup I think, and he left behind a heaving trophy cabinet in Spain.

I'm sure if you told the likes of David Moyes and Martin O'Neill that he was a shit manager, they would think you were a complete tosser.

I think he is poor as he has spent ludicrous sums of money trafficking athletic Spaniards and other European players who are quite frankly stealing a wage. He has got a huge squad of mediocre players and the team falls to pieces if they lose either Torres or 'Stevie G'.

2 Spanish league titles (competing with Barca and Real) and Uefa cup with Valencia suggest he ain't all bad

Yes, he's a dreadful manager isn't he. Real Madrid would kill for a Champions League record as good as his while he's been at Liverpool.

Because he won the Champs League in his FIRST season (so basically with Houllier's team), he has had MORE money than Fergie to spend yet bought SO many w*nk players who would get nowhere near Chelsea or United's teams, and his trophies won to money spent ratio is ABYSMAL.

Spent more NET than EVERYONE bar Chelsea and Man City + Woeful results considering above + terrible man manager (look at the Alonso/Barry debacle from last season that has further weakened his team) = rubbish manager.

Ok, his pedigree isn't terrible but you have to admit (all of you) that he has totally lost the plot this season.

Let's see how Man Utd get on if they lose Rooney for 6 weeks, or Chelsea if they lose Drogba and Anelka. There are only so many "world class" players in the world, and Liverpool don't have the financial muscle of Man U or Chelsea.

Woeful? And in trying to explain your point, you even mention the fact that Citeh have spent more that they have. :lolol:
Good to see that his Champions league success doesn't count because it was Houllier's team. A point well illustrated by the fact that it was obviously so easy, that the bin dippers won it in each of the 5 seasons under Houllier. No wait! They didn't.

Odd. You were very quiet when they were losing two league games through last season, or is this genius assessment of yours based on the fact it's gone a bit pear shaped this term?

Out of interest, where do you stand on Poyet and Forster?

According to Soccerbase...

Since signing Torres - they have a net spend of £86,000,000 - not including fees for those who are listed as being 'signed'.

On their official website they have 47 first team members/squad players, plus 22 academy players.

They might not have the financial muscle of Man Utd or Chelsea, so one should spend wisely.

Liverpool have spent MORE net than United over the last 5 years, so yes, they have. And Rafa has won SO much less than Fergie with it, hasn't he?

Woeful? And in trying to explain your point, you even mention the fact that Citeh have spent more that they have. Yes, and that is all specifically recently. I would bet any money they have more success than Liverpool over the next couple of years. :lolol:

I wasn't quiet. I thought it hilarious how Benitez completely folded under the pressure towards the end of the season, and lost the title by being SO cautious that they DREW tonnes of games they should've won. Rafa completely bottled it, he'll never get as good a chance again.
Out of interest, where do you stand on Poyet and Forster?

I'm mostly on Poyet's side, but it's not black and white - is my view.

And also, the title was utterly sh*t MAN manager. It is WELL DOCUMENTED that Rafa treats his players with contempt at best.

They probably don't count in Mellotron's eyes because they were with somebody elses team. Or something.

You've managed to be wrong twice in one sentence.
